Role as Partner To Non-Profit Development Corporation of Danbury In Vet House
Dream Homes Community Center (DHCC) plays an important role in the City's comprehensive housing program for veterans known as "Housing For Heroes." DHCC has partnered with the Non-Profit Development Corporation of Danbury (NPDCD) to oversee referrals for admission to the Vet House transitional housing program located at 18 New Street. DHCC is also responsible for verification of eligibility and qualifying Veterans status for all potential participants. The Vet House transitional housing program consists of six supportive transitional housing beds. DHCC also is charged by NPDCD with coordinating applications for the four SRO-style permanent housing units located at Vet House. Admission To Vet House Transitional Housing Program
Admission to the Vet House transitional housing program is accomplished through referrals processed by NPDCD's partner agency Dream Homes Community Center. Dream Homes is engaged by NPDCD to handle referrals for admission to the Vet House transitional housing program and for verification of eligibility and qualifying Veterans status. Information about admission to Vet House can also be obtained through the City of Danbury's Homeless Veterans Program at the City Shelter at 41 New Street or through partner agency MCCA located at 38 Old Ridgebury Road, Danbury.
