Director Of Health, Housing & Welfare Scott T. LeRoy was notified on October 16, 2008 that the Macerich Corporation had awarded the department a $500.00 grant to help support Danbury's Project Homeless Connect 2008.  The Macerich Corporation is the company that operates the Danbury Fair Mall.  The announcement was made by Brandi Stelzel, Assistant Marketing Manager.  In addition to the funding, Macerich will also contribute volunteer time on the part of  Macerich employees. 

Danbury Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop community wide event designed to deliver services and hope to people who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless.  It is an innovative approach in engaging citizens, non-profit organizations, government and the business community to partner together to end homelessness.  Danbury's Project Homeless Connect will be held on December 3, 2008 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Danbury Elks Lodge, 346 Main Street, Danbury.
