The United Way of Western Connecticut has once again committed to support Danbury's Project Homeless Connect, this time with a grant of $500.00.  The contribution was confirmed today by David Deschenes, Marketing & Communications Manager.  United Way was a key contributor to the success of Danbury's first ever Project Homeless Connect held in December, 2007.  This year's event will be held on December 3, 2008 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Danbury Elks Lodge located at 346 Main Street in Danbury.   

Danbury Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop community wide event designed to deliver services and hope to people who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless.  It is an innovative approach in engaging citizens, non-profit organizations, government and the business community to partner together to end homelessness.  Project Homeless Connect is co-sponsored by the Greater Danbury Continuum of Care and the Danbury Housing Partnership.  Click on the link provided to get more information about the event.  If you would like to volunteer to assist at the event or wish to contribute funds or goods, please call Planning Workgroup Chair Milena Sangut at 203-448-3200 or email her at Milena.Sangut@po.state.ct.us.
